Day 1 - Opening!
Switzerland
drinks & talks & labs & music
An unaligned oasis where to imagine the world from scratch. A neutral space where everything is still possible: drinks, music, conversation, and glances that pierce reality. A pop-up bar by La Soleggiata, with music by Raclette. Because partying, and not just that, is good, but together it’s better. While outside crowds of fools are throwing missiles, we want to throw flowers! Will you join us?

Where does the energy of every poetic act and every revolution remain? In a nostalgia that turns into action? Francesca Sproccati is back at FIT with her new creation. A journey through a tale that moves from her partisan grandfather to Hypnos, the god of sleep. A search that questions what the word Resistance means to her and to us today.

El Pacto del Olvido

theatre
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the death of Francisco Franco. What has become of the memory of dictatorship and civil war? With the desire of intimately mitigating the trauma provoked by an official discourse that speaks of winners and losers as collectives without personal depth, the artist explores the varying generational conducts with respect to institutionalised amnesia, as embodied in his close relatives.

What does it mean for young people today to work on Čechov's opus while maintaining a lively dialogue with literature? Can we ask Čechov to address the issue of Russia, of Europe today? This diptych is intended as an opening towards a different way of imagining paths with young performers that does not involve the finished form of a conventional theatre play.

At the heart of the piece are emojis, those fun and colourful little faces that are used to express feelings in digital communication. When we use the laughing face in a chat, are we laughing with it? Behind the keyboard, what face are we really making? But the real question at the core of the work is: how can we recover our true feelings?

live documentary
Forgotten archives from the former Yugoslavia reveal the lost legacy of the Non-Aligned Movement – an initiative founded in Belgrade in 1961 at a conference of 25 nations and 17 liberation movements – which fought for decolonisation, disarmament and anti-racism, yet remains absent from Western history.

A mysterious palaeontologist appears before the audience to talk about bones, extinctions and cosmic material. It immediately becomes clear that something is not quite right: his sentences reveal sentimental details, the posture of one of his limbs takes on a bizarre choreographic pose, and the pronunciation of his words increasingly resembles singing…

Once upon a time, there was a little boy. His name was Vincent, and he was a happy child. As in any self-respecting fairy tale, Vincent needs the help of a Fairy Godmother. Except that in our case, the fairy is a bewildered, bizarre, dreamy dancing rabbit named Rosi... Cuor di coniglio is a creation aimed at young audiences which, using fun and poetic language, is meant to be a hymn to the freedom to be different.

One’s own room Inside Kabul is an invitation to step into the living room of a young Afghan woman. There, after taking off their shoes and sitting down among the cushions and traditional dishes, the audience meets Raha, isolated from the outside world after the Taliban’s rise to power, Raha shares her thoughts, her desires and her fears. This visual and sound-based experience evokes the fragility of everyday life for women in Afghanistan and serves as a reminder of how quickly fundamental rights can collapse.

Magda Toffler or an Essay on Silence
Switzerland
theatre
October 1943: Heinrich Himmler gathers all the Gauleiters of the Reich to inform them of the regime's decision to completely exterminate the Jewish population of Europe. In this play Boris Nikitin delves into the past of his grandmother, Magda Toffler, whose real origins and a life spent in hiding were only discovered after her death. A biographical text, therefore, which drills deep into the hidden layers of the European 20th century, intertwining personal and collective history, reflection and emotion.
