One can no longer talk about genre, pattern or category; sound is a ritual, a tool for exploring one’s identity, a tool that allows for its recovery, investigation and transformation.

Aïsha Devi uses electronics to alter consciousness, or rather, to make it aware of itself and free the spirit. To speak of her Himalayan origins as a propensity for certain spiritual investigations would be to give in to an easy conclusion, to a preconception. The truth is that she affirms a radical vision of music: processed voice, synthesizers and binaural frequencies become instruments of meditation, deconstruction and inner power.

Musical structures dissolve into hypnotic environments until they become mantric incisions that challenge genres and conventions. Body, identity and technology are subjects that are explored in her performances, transforming them into streams of revelation.
