CHARLOTTE DUMARTHERAY

ACTRESS & DIRECTOR

French-Swiss actress, she graduated from the Haute École de Théâtre de Suisse Romande, la Manufacture (2012). In the field of prose, in recent years she participated under the direction of Clément Hervieu Léger in Une des dernières soirées de carnaval by Goldoni, which toured France and Switzerland. Her theatre credits as an actress include collaborations with Jean Liermier (Antigone 2012), Laurent Pelly (Mangeront-ils? 2012 / Le songe d’une nuit d’été 2016), Magali Tosato (Amour/luxe 2017), Joan Mompart (Mon chien dieu 2017 / 2018), Manon Krüttli (Le large existe 2018) and Natacha Koutchoumov (Summer break 2018).

As a director, Charlotte Dumartheray signed Grand Écart (2018) where she directed dancer Kiyan Khoshoie; the successful play is part of the Sélection suisse en Avignon 2022. Other works are On m’appelle Judith Scott (2016) and Mambo Miam Miam (2017).

In 2022, Dumartheray collaborated again with Khoshoie, with whom she co-created Kick Ball Change at Le Grütli, Centre de production et de diffusion des Arts vivants, which toured French-speaking Switzerland and is expected at FIT 2023. The work was one of five winners in the RTS competition De la scène à l’écran and is currently being adapted for the screen by director Géraldine Rod.
