Lives that are (not) my own
Biography and Autobiography are appearing more and more often at the centre of new forms of art and performance, and not infrequently mark sensational publishing successes (think of the successful novels by E. Carrère and A. Ernaux). But what gives an individual story a universal function? What credibility pact is established with the reader or the spectator? And how far can the author disappear, without compromising the authenticity of this pact?
