Born and raised in Switzerland, in the Canton of Ticino, Lorena Dozio studied Performing Arts at the University  of Bologna, before completing her training in choreography at the Center National de Danse Contemporaine (CNDC) in Angers, under the direction of Emmanuelle. Huynh. In this context, she began to create her first choreographies and then collaborate with the Brazilian choreographer and dancer Fernando Cabral.

In 2012 at the Transforme training at the Abbaye de Royaumont directed by Myriam Gourfink, she met the composers Carlo Ciceri and Daniel Zea and together they founded the association Crile in Lugano, interested in the creation of choreographic projects in close connection with contemporary music and other artistic languages.

In 2016 Lorena Dozio created the quartet Otolithes co-produced by LuganoInScena and supported by RESO – Dance Network Switzerland, which debuted at the FIT Festival in Lugano. In 2020 one of her works again debuted at the FIT: the female trio Rame. Lorena Dozio then devoted herself to the creation of the sound and choreographic installation Danses Invisibles. This creation was followed by Audiodanses, another choreographic and sound project that questions dance through hearing.

Her latest work Comme un saut immobile pushes her research into the invisible even further, this time through words, focusing on the voice and the relationship between body and text. It premiered at LAC in March 2023.
