ASSOCIATION FRÉQUENCE MOTEUR

DANCE, PERFORMANCE, INSTALLATION

Vevey-based Association Fréquence Moteur was founded by Valentine Paley in 2014. Paley’s passion for collaborative projects inspired her to join forces with a group of close collaborators to create contemporary dance productions, site-specific performances and installations. These projects were an opportunity for Paley to share her vision of the stage as a space for which and on which one can build and create not only props and decor, but also impressions and sensations. Her exploration of danced movement and its permeability to unexpected influences has led her to a deeply personal form of choreographic writing.

Association Fréquence Moteur has staged productions at a number of venues and festivals, including: the Théâtre Oriental-Vevey, the Théâtre Sévelin 36, the Théatre Südpol, the TU – Théatre de l’Usine, the Dansomètre, La Fête de la Danse and La Fête du Slip. Paley honed her craft through programs such as Camping, Choreographing and Danse & Dramaturgie (Pro Helvetia), a training ground for up- and-coming Swiss choreographers.

Le Milieu, presented at FIT 2022, is one of the productions supported by three Swiss theatres/institutions Dapfzentrale in Bern, Schlachthaus in Bern and LAC/FIT in Lugano as part of the Kicks! project and premiered as part of the festival of the same name in May 2022.
