A dramaturgy of reality, a story similar to the great plots of tragedy transposed into the contemporary era. In Please, Continue, it is to an authentic Court of Justice (composed by real judges of the Ticino Forum) that Roger Bernat and Yan Duyvendak deliver the destiny of the play. Subjected to the codes of justice and dramaturgy of a real trial, where Hamlet is accused of having killed Polonius, the father of his fiancée Ophelia, the play becomes a real intrigue and murder to be solved. The boundaries between the fiction of the play and real procedure blur. The pace is that of a real trial delivered into the hands of the judicial system and the popular jury (chosen from the audience), which at the end of the process with all the elements in hand, will have to decide the guilt or innocence of our contemporary Hamlet. What will happen then? Will we be able to recognize the theater of life? Will we be able to realize the weight of codes, rules at stake and, paradoxically, the fragility of the subjectivity of some decisions? Please, Continue (Hamlet) is not theater. It is a performance where all means, codes, languages, conventions are summoned and the dramatic mechanism redraws the position of a scene in which justice can be returned to the spectator/citizen in all its subjectivity.
