at the radio station at Grande Caffè Bistrot in Lugano…

Ninth Episode:
Possiamo scegliere… di tornare a respirare? – Can we choose… to breath again?

An intense, lucid and grateful finale. It begins with One’s own room Inside Kabul by Kubra Khademi and Caroline Gillet, an immersive experience that allows us to tiptoe into the room of a young Afghan woman and witness her daily resistance. We then move on to Boris Nikitin’s Magda Toffler or an Essay on Silence, where silence becomes a form of truth and struggle, and Se volevo vivere sotto pressione nascevo pentola from the Sentieri Selvaggi project curated by Camilla Parini with the involvement of some KFWR youngsters, an intimate and sincere portrait of youth that never stops searching for itself. A project that delicately opens our eyes to adolescence and freedom.

At the heart of this latest episode is the most eagerly awaited moment: the announcement of the winner of the Young&Kids 2025 section (HERE IS THE MEMORANDUM!). The award goes to Rosaluna e i lupi by Progetto g.g, for its poetic power and for its courage in inviting children and adults to disobey, to make noise, to carry out their own revolution. An episode that closes a journey, but leaves many questions open, paving the way for new horizons and next year’s edition: can we really choose to breathe, again? Perhaps yes, if that breath is shared.

From the pop-up studio, Matilde, Matilda, Serena N., Nico, Marzia, Irma, Aurora, Kata, Nikita, Tirhas, Serena. S, Monica, Valentina, Alan, Marti, Mohammad and Alisina say goodbye, for now.

Every day, our journalists take turns in the following groups:

RED-GIA: takes care of all the radio direction, manages the live broadcast, and selects the music related to the title and the theme of the episode.
R.E.D.: They are the editors of the show. They write and define every detail of the text and will be the main hosts of the show.
ACTION: They do the fieldwork by interviewing the audience and the artists before and/or after the show. They invite artists and/or critics to participate in our live radio broadcasts.
REDRUM: They are the actual theatre critics. Redrum, does that sound eerily familiar? Yes, yes, The Shining, the mirror, that word, redrum, which when read backwards becomes MURDER. Our critics shouldn’t be afraid to criticise, even to crush, but they can only do so by arguing to the utmost and knowing all aspects of the performance and the company in depth.
PIANETA ROSSO/RED PLANET: This section literally takes us into another world… It will be the point of view from outside the festival and the theatre. Our lateral thinking, based on the theme and title of the episode we will propose all the suggestions that animate us and that we would like to suggest to you listeners.
