Born and raised in Trentino, Angela Dematt\u00e9 chose to settle in Milan to pursue her artistic career. After a degree in Modern Literature and graduating from the theatre school Accademia dei Filodrammatici, she worked as an actress until she began her activity as an author in 2009: she wrote Avevo un bel pallone rosso<\/em> and won Premio Riccione<\/strong> and Premio Golden Graal<\/strong>. The play was directed by Carmelo Rifici with whom she began a profound research that resulted in, among others, L’officina<\/em>, Chi resta<\/em>, Il compromesso, Ifigenia, liberata<\/em> and Macbeth, le cose nascoste<\/em>. During the same years she worked as a Dramaturg. She wrote, directed and performed Mad in Europe<\/em>, which won the 2015 Premio Scenario<\/strong> and Premio Sonia Bonacina<\/strong>. In 2019 the city of Trento conferred on her the Premio Aquila d’Oro<\/strong>, highest recognition for culture. In 2024, he was awarded Migliore autore di novit\u00e0 italiana<\/strong> – “Best New Italian author” of the prestigious Premi Le Maschere del Teatro Italiano<\/strong> for De Gasperi: l’Europa brucia<\/em>, another recent collaboration with Carmelo Rifici.<\/p>\n

Texts of Angela Dematt\u00e9 as a playwright are published in Italy, France, Switzerland, Germany and Egypt. She collaborates with major theaters such as: LAC in Lugano, Piccolo Teatro in Milan, Th\u00e9\u00e2tre de la Manufacture in Nancy.<\/p>\n
