It was founded in 1996 by actor and director <strong>Carlo Cerciello<\/strong>, actress <strong>Imma Villa<\/strong> and <strong>Pierpaolo Roselli, <\/strong>already accomplices in the creation of the cultural association Anonima Romanzi.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Carlo Cerciello<\/strong> began his training in 1968, studying singing with De Simone. He founded a music group in the 1970s and began with theatre in 1982. He has worked as an actor in theatre, cinema, radio and television. He has participated in almost all Italian theatre and film festivals, Astiteatro, Spoleto, Festival Mondiale di Drammaturgia Contemporanea, Catonateatro, Taormina Arte, Venice Film Festival. He directed numerous successful projects and productions and was awarded many important prizes, including: the prestigious <strong>Premio Giuseppe Bartolucci 2001<\/strong>, for the activity of Teatro Elicantropo, the <strong>Premio UBU 2002<\/strong>, the <strong>Premio ETI Olimpici del Teatro 2008<\/strong>, the <strong>Premio Ruccello 2006, <\/strong>the <strong>Premio Hystrio 2009<\/strong> for direction, the <strong>Premio Museo Cervi &#8211; Teatro per la Memoria 2013<\/strong>. <strong>Premio della Critica ANCT 2015<\/strong> as best play for <em>Scannasurice<\/em> (at FIT in 2016, <a href=\"https:\/\/fit.latitud46.com\/en\/fit-2016-talk-with-carlo-cerciello-and-imma-villa-it\/\"><u>read more and watch the after-show talk<\/u><\/a>).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Imma Villa<\/strong> began working in theatre at the age of 12 alongside her father, the Neapolitan actor and writer Geppino Villa and actor Gianni Crosio. After extensive experience in dialect theatre, she met Cerciello and Roselli. The theatrical choices of Imma Villa, winner of the <strong>Premio della Critica ANCT 2014<\/strong> for her interpretation of Bertolt Brecht&#8217;s <em>La Madre<\/em> (<em>The Mother<\/em>), have always stood out for the complexity and depth of the female roles she has tackled, in which the denunciation and\/or political consciousness of &#8220;being a woman&#8221; has been and continues to be a distinctive trait of the character interpreted and a discriminating element within the dramaturgy represented.
